What Does Our Injection Molding Development Process Entail?
To get your product just right, we go through a series of meticulous steps from the Discovery to Quality Assurance:
Discovery
We work closely with you to review and understand your component’s history, goals, budget and timing requirements, the intended application, critical functionality, and key performance requirements so we can offer any insights as the project moves through the development process.
Design & Evaluation
We can offer services over a broad range of needs; everything from full design and engineering support to design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews of your existing designs. 3D modeling, 3D printing, FMEA and Mold Flow analysis are tools we use to ensure the smoothest transition from idea to production. Our goal is to help you develop the 3D model and 2D drawings that are ready for production.
Quotation
After the design is complete, we offer a quick turnaround on tooling and piece price quotations. We need the following information to provide the most accurate quote:
- 2D drawing with critical dimensions, tolerances and material specs
- 3D model (virtually any file type will work)
- Desired order quantities (MOQ’s) and/or expected annual usage (EAU)
First Production
We manage all aspects of the production process, including tool building, process development, component qualification to specifications, and production scheduling.
Quality Assurance
We are well versed in all levels of the PPAP process to deliver the parts and data you need after your tooling and First Articles are complete to move to full-scale production.
